LANCASTER PARK TAKE PREMIERSHIP TITLE

The Designer Homes Premiership One Day final was taken out by Lancaster Park, in an exciting game against Old Boys Collegians.

Batting first, Lancaster Park were bowled out for 194 and despite a number of contributions, there were no significant scores, with Andrew Hazeldine's 43 the best. Tim Braid and Sean Davey both took three for Old Boys Collegians.

The OBC innings followed a similar path, with a number solid contributions but only Jeff Case got past 50. Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Angus Hamilton claimed 3 each.

Lancaster Park will now represent Christchurch in the play-offs to qualify for the National Club Championships.

Lancaster Park 194/10 Andrew Hazeldine 43, Alistair Burnett 28, Oscar Wilson 28, Tim Braid 3/29, Sean Davey 3/33 beat Old Boys Collegians 164/10 Jeff Case 52, Jack Lewis 30, Fynn Hudson-Prentice 3/38, Angus Hamilton 3/31

Runs on the board also proved important in the Championship final at Burnside Park. The home side were 147/10 with Alex Heenan top scorer. This was less than they would of liked and early pressure on Lancaster Park was needed. Burnside bowled and fielded with great enthusiasm to take the win.

Burnside West 147/10 Alex Heenan 38, Tom Dunlop 30, Liam McBreen-Smith 5/31, Nathan Wingham 3/23 beat Lancaster Park 37/10 Will Kennedy 5/17, Hunter Rowe 3/15

The theme of "runs on the board" was key at Denton in the Division 2 final. Old Boys Collegians batted first and posted 135 and were able to restrict Hornby and take the win.

Old Boys Collegians 137/7 Tim Braid 35*, Morgan Williams 33, Dave Kennett 3/19 beat Hornby 111/10 Kennett 24, Tim Braid 5/30

Thank to our umpires from today's game, Dave Henderson, Matthew Hill, Michael Rohland, Anvesh Achanta, Roger Wyeth and David Miller, who all did a sterling job in hot and windy conditions.
