The Lancaster Park Premier Men have smashed the record for the highest ever score in a game of Christchurch Metro 50 over cricket at Upper Riccarton Domain on Saturday.
Batting first against Riccarton, Oscar Wilson and Michael Davidson got Lancaster Park off to a flyer after Cameron Tabb was dismissed early. When Wilson was dismissed for 102 off 58 balls in the 20th over the score was on 181. Davidson and Alistair Burnett then continued the onslaught adding 147 for the third wicket before Davidson was dismissed for 153, the fifth highest score on record in CMCA One-Day Cricket.
Burnett was dismissed for 91 and further cameos from Scott Duggan and Theo van Woerkom pushed the score over the 400 mark, with Lancaster Park ending on 415/5 from their 50 overs. This score surpassed the previous record of 362/5 set by East Shirley in 2018-19.
Riccarton were always behind the 8-ball and were dismissed for 143.
